Legislative Accomplishments


- 2000 - Successfully fought for funding for the Clinton Veteran's Athletic Complex.
- 2005 - Sponsored the first legislation providing death benefits for call/volunteer firefighters.
- 2008 - Negotiated and procured funding to renovate the Water Street Housing Project.
- 1998-01 - Responsible for procuring 48 acres of state land, transferring it to the town of Clinton to be redesigned into playing fields and green space on Route 110.
- 2008 - Fighting for sound barriers to be erected along Route 290 in Northboro.
- 2003 - 2003- Sponsored legislation for better regulation and maintenance of water wells.
- 2002- present - Responsible for the rebuilding of the sewer systems in the Washacum Village area.
- 2007-8 - sponsored legislation to increase the punishment of tracking methamphetamine, designed to keep drugs off the street in the 12th Worcester.
- 2007 - Sponsored a bill to increase the punishment for road rage and related offenses.
- 1999 - Promoted the creation of an online predator database to keep the district's children and senior citizen's safe.
- 2000 - Authored legislation establishing the first Central Massachusetts office of the Attorney General.
- 2001 to present - With the Office of the Commissioner of Probation and utilizing the former Clinton Armory, established the Massachusetts Probation Training Academy, the first of it's kind in the nation. This Academy has brought jobs to Clinton and utilizes local merchants.
- 2003 - Saved the Clinton District Court from efforts to close it by the Romney Administration
- Ongoing - Massachusetts Municipal Police Academy established in Boylston. Responsible for increased rental payments to the Town of Boylston.
- 2006-2007 - Funding to redesign Sterling's Muddy Pond Bridge, also worked to redevelop land in the district.
- 2008 - Legislative Economic development incentives responsible for the A. Duie Pyle Trucking Company locating a facility in Northborough creating 150 jobs and broadening the tax base.
- For fourteen years, Harold P. Naughton, Jr. has led the fight to protect Clinton's historic rights in the Wachusett Reservoir and watershed. Preserved Clinton's historic rights to water and sewer service and responsible for over fourteen million dollars reimbursement to the Town in related fees and costs.
- 2008 - Successful House budget amendment to fund repairs of the Wekepeke dam in Sterling.
- Have been successful in increasing regional school transportation funding reimbursement to eighty five percent.
- Have been successful in increasing prison mitigation funds to the Town of Lancaster.
- 2008 - successfully advocated for rehabilitation monies for the Sterling American Legion Hall.
- 2008 - 125,000 dollar appropriation for the Hill Side Restoration in Boylston.
- 2008 - 50,000 dollars to Johnny Appleseed visitors center in Lancaster.
- 2008 - 25,000 dollars for the Police training center in Boylston.
